It has a carved grip which cradles the fingers and makes it quite satisfying to hold.Thegraton blade keeps an edge quite well. (A graton blade has slight indentations to prevent whatever you are cutting from sticking.)
This is a great cheese knife for dry cheeses like cheddar, and it's good for preping small amounts of veggies, garlic, nuts.
I purchased four of these knives for presents after using one for two years in my own kitchen. In total I have purchased six of them for gifts.
