(More customer reviews)I received this set as a gift for Christmas. I use some of them, don't really use others... I take care of them as per the instructions that came with them. I mean, they are knives so it's not rocket science, right???

Well, they are all rusting! The knives and the scissors. This is not a cheap set of knives and the blades are all rusting. I can't believe my eyes and it's embarrassing because when I have my mother over, she wonders why I'm not using them... Thinks her money went to waste but I don't want to embarrass her further by making her think she bought an inferior product. In the process now of trying to get a replacement to a completely different set because an entire set cannot be simply defective and must be poorly made. Wish I could get a refund and buy a completely different brand.

I'd give it zero stars if that were an option. Don't waste your money.

This set of knives and other cutting devices offers a professional look and more knives than most other sets. With its black and silver color combination, it looks very nice sitting on most any counter.

Most important with any cutlery set is its performance and looking at the knives in this Cuisinart set, one can quickly see that they are very durable in construction. The handles and blades are both made from stainless steel, making them unbreakable. Not only will they not break, they are even difficult to bend, and this is further proof of their durability.

Can the knives in this cutlery set slice through food with ease? You bet that can, and that includes everything, right down to the six smaller knives found at the base of the unit. The knives are strong and sharp and it takes very little effort to slice through even the toughest meats and other foods. There is even a built- in knife sharpener, to ensure that your knives remain as sharp as possible.

All sharp objects should be kept away from small children, but this is especially true with this knife set, and the reason is because of the way they look. The steak knives in this set look very much like an ordinary butter knife. They do not have serrated blades and about the only thing that distinguishes them from an ordinary butter knife is the pointed tip. If a young person mistakes one of these knives for a butter knife, a serious cut could result.
