(More customer reviews)Those who have read my other reviews know I've been a Ginsu knife fan for decades.However, there have been ties I have tried normal "grownup" knives and though they were good and well thought out products from reputable and well thought of manufacturers I still grabbed for the Ginsus when it came time to make dinner.I guess I was not ready for a grownup knife.

Then I saw an online ad for the Chikara series and when I had a few spare bucks I bought the santoku from the full set with the bamboo cutting board.Let me get the board out of the way, it is very nice but considering it has grooves for carving, it is a tad small.On the other hand, it's very portable and safely houses the knife, making it good for picnics and such.

The knife, on the other hand, is fabulous.It's well balanced and feels very natural in my hand...which is saying something since I have carpel tunnel syndrome...and the blade is truly razor sharp.Went through a package of bacon (with the plastic on) like nothing.Onions fell into dice at the mere glance of the blade.And some how the Ginsu brand has made me comfortable in a way none of the others did.

I am still not sure if I'll buy the full set.I have PLENTY of knives, after all. However, if you are in the market for a set of handsome, functional, and well-priced knives I recommend the Chikara series. Also, think about these the next time you are shopping for wedding or graduation presents.
