(More customer reviews)This is a primo cutting board. The groove collects the juices from tomatoes and other veggies so it doesn't make a mess on my counter. I'm able to pour them into the finished product and save all the good vitamins and minerals. It doesn't stain and the hard finish has yet to get a cut anywhere on it. I've had it for well over a year so any defects would have shown up by now. You can't go wrong with this one.

(More customer reviews)I had never heard of Bamboo Cutting Boards and was impressed by the pictures and advertisements posted on Amazon.com. In addition, in person the wood grain and various interlaying colors of this item are truly beautiful.However, I was very disappointed in the quality of the craftsmanship.Some of the various seams between the wooden pieces in the cutting board had large open gaps while others exposed wood glue that had leaked out and dried.It also appeared as though during manufacturing some gaps in the wood were filled with glue or sealant, creating an unsightly blemish on the item.Even more noticeable were 1/2-inch areas located in various spots around both sides of the cutting block that appeared to be rough or un-sanded/unfinished exposed wood. I do not recommend purchasing this item through the internet.

(More customer reviews)The 13.8 x 11 board is smooth like glass, strong, yet lightweight.The surface looks like a spot drawing.I've never seen a bamboo board so I guess that's what bamboo is supposed to look like.The board is non-porous; water runs off in big droplets.I covered it with mineral oil as the directions stated and the surface is still non-porous and looks about the same color.I've had the board a few weeks and used it a few times and it seems to be well constructed.Totally Bamboo sent the cutting board wrapped in a pretty straw bow.

But do not get me wrong, these are crap even when comparing it to nothing. I am very disappointed. I rated a 3star just because only one has broken and the rest are already pealing. I find little pieces of bamboo in my food every now and then :(

(More customer reviews)I bought another, thicker and larger bamboo cutting board at the same time and I use it more, but this one is very handy to grab and take to my stove area to chop things quickly.It is lightweight, but not at all fragile. The bamboo is much better than regular cutting boards, and I love that they are a quickly renewable resource.The bamboo doesn't seem to soak up liquid the way regular cutting boards do, and it looks a lot better. I love chopping on these bamboo cutting boards. They don't get splits from my knives, and the surface is much more dense and less porous! Everyone who has seen them in my kitchen loves the way they look and asks where I got them.The only thing I would say about this, is pay attention to the measurements of this one, as it is definitely smaller than my other board.
