(More customer reviews)This is a primo cutting board. The groove collects the juices from tomatoes and other veggies so it doesn't make a mess on my counter. I'm able to pour them into the finished product and save all the good vitamins and minerals. It doesn't stain and the hard finish has yet to get a cut anywhere on it. I've had it for well over a year so any defects would have shown up by now. You can't go wrong with this one.

(More customer reviews)I bought this cutting board because Cook's Illustrated recommended the equivalent larger board (Totally Bamboo Congo) but I needed a replacement for my smaller board.The end-grain bamboo is great for the knives, the board looks great, and the size is perfect for smaller jobs:chopping a few veggies or slicing some cheese for example.I'm now going to buy the Congo to replace my larger end-grain maple board, which is too heavy for everyday use.These boards are thick enough to feel sturdy, but not so heavy as a 2 inch thick maple board.

(More customer reviews)It took me a while to decide on which one to purchase.I was looking at the two that were similarly priced on Amazon.This one was a little bit more expensive, but after receiving it I can see why.Its incredibly high quality.The original reason I bought it was it had the smallest height of the two, making it easier to fit in a drawer.I also compared prices else where of the two and this one was the largest savings.I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again.

it covers the top of my stove exactly.the wood is beautiful and warm.

i got mine late november early december, and i use if everyday at least once, and it still looks new.it is easy to clean, even if i left cut tomatoe and avocado or something, the stains wipe right off.

p.s.i only use mine to cut fruit and veggies....we are vegetarian.

The shipment arrived promptly, and the block was well packed and protected. When I opened the box, I couldn't believe how beautiful - and brawny - this block is. The pictures don't do it justice. It is extremely well made - tightly crafted, very smooth and silky to the touch, substantial, but not too heavy to easily lift and move. The legs are just the right height and the rubber feet hold it nicely in place. It gives a very satisfying "thunk" when chopping -and dicing, slicing and mincingare a joy. Very easy care - wipe with hot, soapy water or vinegar and treat with wood oil as needed. Goodbye, wimpy acrylic and rough wood............hello beautiful bamboo! I give it a big TEN and will be purchasing more Totally Bamboo products.

Edited to add: Since purchasing this chopping block, I have discovered a wonderful product for treating wood and cast iron. It's a food grade mix of beeswax and mineral oil and can be found on eBay, sold by Wooden Wonders. Name is Beeswax Butcher Block Conditioner. It's thick and has a firm texture, meaning more beeswax and less oil. Great product!

(More customer reviews)I bought another, thicker and larger bamboo cutting board at the same time and I use it more, but this one is very handy to grab and take to my stove area to chop things quickly.It is lightweight, but not at all fragile. The bamboo is much better than regular cutting boards, and I love that they are a quickly renewable resource.The bamboo doesn't seem to soak up liquid the way regular cutting boards do, and it looks a lot better. I love chopping on these bamboo cutting boards. They don't get splits from my knives, and the surface is much more dense and less porous! Everyone who has seen them in my kitchen loves the way they look and asks where I got them.The only thing I would say about this, is pay attention to the measurements of this one, as it is definitely smaller than my other board.
