(More customer reviews)I purchased this item as a xmas present so i was somewhat aprehensive about the quality. The most important thing to me was the strength of the magnates - would they be strong enough to hold the big collection of substantial knives that it was puchased for? This rack holds them all with ease and holds them good and tight, including a couple of very heavy chinese cleavers. It has a pleasant heft to it, not that cheap lightweight plastic feel like so many things these days. The S shaped hooks that were included with it was a nice touch - you can also hang non-metalic items like wooden spatulas, teflon whisks etc that normally take up so much room in the utensil drawer. Very happy with this purchase.

(More customer reviews)Moving into a smallish condo so kitchen counter space is limited.This arrived quickly from the vendor in great condition with all needed parts intact.It is easy to mount to the wall and the rubber cover snaps right on, fitting well without having to force it. There is no metal to metal contact with the blades.
There are five wonderfully strong magnets that hold our 4 Henckels steak knives, 3 smaller bladed Kuhn Rikon prep knives, and one larger (6") Wusthof knife. We could fit one more smaller knife on if needed.
Have not noticed any cuts or scratches from removing knives & is easy to clean. It is not an eyesore and love the little 'eye wink' logo that greets you each time you reach for a knife.Great product; hope that Amazon will eventually carry replacement covers which come in lots of primary colors. If we need a second will definitely purchase this little guy again.

(More customer reviews)I bought this product with the intent to hang vertically.Unfortunately the magnet is not strong enough to hold ALL of my knives in this position, some knives did well, others drooped.When I changed the mount to the horizontal position it worked perfectly as gravity wasn't as much an issue.Very easy to mount and no frills.Good product and worth the money.

(More customer reviews)I bought two of these magnetic knife bars for my wife and although we haven't used them as much as I thought we would, I am pleased with their appearance and functionality.My one big gripe is that the screws that come with this product are terrible and strip out right away.When you install this don't even bother using the included screws!Once I threw away the defective screws and used some from the hardware store, installation was quick.I would recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for a good way to store knives.I don't like blocks because they are impossible to clean.Stuffing good knives in to a drawer to have their edges knocked about makes my skin crawl.Other magnetic strip holders are metal and can also damage the edge.

The Bamboo Magnetic Bar works very well.It holds my knives and allows easy access.The strength of the magnets is a good balance between holding the knives and having to pry them off with a crow bar.The bamboo surface keeps my knives edges safe from nicks.

My only complaint is the way the magnets are placed in the bamboo block.There are some dead spots on the board.Annoying at first but I am used to it now.These dead spots suck the knife into a position that may not be optimal, with a little rearranging its works fine.

If the magnets were consistent across the board I would give it fiver starts.
