(More customer reviews)I am a knife nut. I have many nice knives in my kitchen such as Henckels, Sabatier, Kershaw, Boker Ceramic, and Rachel Ray. I know that most people reach for the knife that they feel is the most comfortable in thier hand. Since I bought these Rachael Ray knives, I have not reached for anything else. They feel great in your hand, and dont slip around in your hand even when wet. They come sharp out of the box. I have had these knives for nearly three months. I love to sharpen knives too. I have not had to sharpen these knives yet. They cut up onions and cut through sausage wrappers very easily, as well as anything else. I cant say enough good things about them.

As with any quality knife, do not wash these knives in the dishwasher. High quality stainless steel knives have a high carbon content. The high carbon stainless steel will rust a little if exposed to moisture and corrosive detergents in the dishwasher. There are lots of knives that don't rust in the dishwasher, and they don't usually hold an edge as well as high carbon stainless steel.

(More customer reviews)I received this set of knives for Christmas 2006 and the larger knife came defective. And since they advertise a "limited lifetime warranty" I figured I go straight to the manufacturer for a replacement. Bad idea. I contacted them in early January 2007 and no one got back to me. Then in early February I contacted them again. When I called they told me to email them describing the issue. I did and after a couple weeks and a lot of frustration I called back. This time I was told to send an email. Oh, what a surprise. I explained that I already sent an email and I was told that they were going through some changes and I was assured that someone would respond to my email this time. So I sent yet another email describing the problem. But unlike the previous emails, this one received a response. The email asked that I submit their return authorization form, which I completed and faxed back. Over two months later and I'm still wondering when this knife will be replaced.

So what good is a "warranty" if you can't get in touch with the company so they can honor their warranty?
