Zyliss Lettuce Knife, Green Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I originally bought this to cut cheesecake in a non-stick springform pan. It surprised me at how well it cut the cheesecake slices - just like a traditional sharp knife but without damaging the non-stick surface.

So now I use it whenever I need to cut anything in ANY of my non-stick pans, cookie sheets, whatever. This knife is amazingly great and quite useful. No worries with cutting anything in a non-stick pan since it won't cut into the non-stick surface.

BTW, I haven't tried cutting lettuce with it.

Product Description:
Tear at leafy greens no more! This traditionally tedious task becomes a delight with Zyliss' lettuce knife. The lightweight knife features a long, angled blade with an evenly serrated cutting edge. Place your greens on a cutting board and cut. The clean cut allows the leaves to stay green longer rather than quick-browning like torn leaves. It's also excellent with cakes, breads and brownies without leaving a trail of crumbs. The handle is long and the curved, ergonomic shape makes cutting easy-keeping your hands comfortable and dry. Crafted of durable green colored plastic. Safe on coated cookware and safe to wash in the dishwasher.

OXO Good Grips 1161000 Lettuce Knife Review

(More customer reviews)This knife does a fine job for what it is, but I wish that it was a couple inches longer so that it could slice through a head of iceberg lettuce in one stroke. It always leaves a couple inches uncut.

Cooks Concept 4-Inch Ceramic Knife Paring Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Comes in swanky black box like jewelry. I like it, buy one for lettuce and enjoy! It's about a 8 on a 0-10 sharpness scale. you cant sharpen this at home as far as i know, perhaps my diamond hone would be OK, I'm leaving it as is for now. Works great with lettuce (what i bought it for) the cut ends do not brown or degrade after days in the fridge after cutting.

I loved the link on the sales page to the video of the factory in Japan, kinda weird, kinda cool, just like the knife. Be careful they do break and don't be dumb and try to take it through a metal detector, they put metal in the ceramic knives they sell to the public, just enough to set off a detector. Play safe and keep it at home where it belongs. These knives don't travel well, they are brittle and will break if you pry or even drop something on them. Still a great specialty knife that fits in any kitchen.
