First, because you put your weight directly above the wheel as it's cutting, it cuts much more easily than traditional pizza wheels. Second, because it comes apart easily and can be put in the dishwasher, it's easier to clean than other pizza wheels. Finally, mine stayed sharp for years (until a friend borrowed it and ran it over metal pizza trays for an afternoon). What else is there?

(More customer reviews)I already owned an RSVP World Class Pizza Cutter and it was of excellent quality and cut quite cleanly. It was, however, too short for my 15inch pizzas. The 20inch American Metalcraft cutter arrived quickly from Next Day Gourmet but it refused to cut cleanly, leaving slices stuck together unlike the RSVP cutter. When I compared the two cutters I found the American Metalcraft to have an edge that was rough and ragged almost as if it was sharpened on a sidewalk. I took my knife sharpener ( I believe it's called a STEEL ) and after about 15 minutes, the edge was smooth, sharp and working fine.

Mario Batali Nylon Pizza Knife Review

(More customer reviews)I've had a much smaller nylon rocker knive for several years and always turn to it over a traditional wheel to cut pizza or other food.
The problem with the small one is that it required many more cuts.

This pizza knife can rock across a pizza or large quesadilla with ease.
It can still make quick work of cutting grilled cheese or cold cut sandwiches too.

Definately a keeper!
