Thinking all vegetable peelers were basically the same, I bought another brand, then another and then another, none of which worked as well as the Rada. Others remove far too much of the vegetable or are rough and dull and difficult to use. Well worth it!

(More customer reviews)This is a very high quality piece of kitchenware, and I feel that it's definitely worth spending the few extra bucks vs. the cheaper versions that are available at most chain stores.

Previous to owning this product, I had gone through many pizza cutters of several different designs.Two of my previous cutters were similar in design to this item and each had fallen apart after about a couple of months of use.This product has lasted me about 3 years, and it bears no signs of imminent and/or catastrophic failure.

What led me to buy this product is that I received one of Rada's steak knifes as a promotional gift, and I was very, very impressed with the sharpness and look of the cutlery, so I ended up buying several sets of knives, and then later purchased several other Rada offerings, this pizza cutter included.

Some users have described issues with the brushed aluminum handle coating suffering discoloration following repeated uses and dishwasher runs over a long period of time.I've owned this piece for about 3 years, and have run it through at least 50 dishwasher cycles (at LEAST), and I haven't noticed any discoloration over time.However, this is only my personal experience (as a grad student who consumes a lot of pizza and doesn't wash things by hand if not necessary[as opposed to the dishwasher]).Maybe Rada will introduce a black handle version in the future for those of you with concerns...

(More customer reviews)My mom and I bought this peeler from a little old lady at a flea market 11 years ago. Since then it has been the only peeler we've used. When I went away to college I tried to find one for myself and have been scouring flea markets for years trying to find the seller/product. I tried every other peeler from cheap grocery store ones to expensive department store specialty shops, without equal results. I'm very glad to see them available on Amazon. This peeler is just as sharp today as it was the first day we bought it. Peels were thin and smooth all around whether you cut an apple/potato/whatever. Can be used by both righty/lefties and is very lightweight and maneuverable. I love it so much I ended buying 10 more for family members. Highly recommended!

(More customer reviews)In my opinion, Rada Cutlery is a hidden gem among all the kitchenware that is available today.The knives and gadgets are well made and durable--I especially love this peeler for carrots and cucumbers and my serrated chopper makes short work of chopping a cup or more of nuts (and I do not have to drag out the food processor, etc.).

I have many Rada knives, also, and find them to remain sharp for a long time and to have a good "feel" in the hand.They are also made in USA!

(More customer reviews)This is the very best vegetable peeler I've ever used, in four decades of cooking. It was given to me as a gift 10 years ago from a friend in the food-service industry, and it is still as sharp and effective as when it was new (I DON'T wash it in the dishwasher.) In fact, I so fell in love with this peeler, that when I replaced my old knives two years ago, I replaced them with Rada steak and preparation knives. They keep an edge like no other (JA Henckels doesn't compare), and when they do get dull, they sharpen up with just a few quick strokes. And they're WAY less expensive than their better-known competitors. And they're made in the USA.

I bought these to give as gifts after some friends came to my house to help with a large-quantity cooking event for our church, and was shocked at how easy to use, how well-balanced, and how SHARP this peeler is.

(More customer reviews)I have used Rada cutlery for a dozen years, after finding a tiny set at a hospital gift shop. I have given this cutlery as gifts for years, including to terrific cooks, who cherish their pieces. This cutlery is thin and lightweight, and may require an adjustment if you are used to heavy knives that pin your foot to the floor if you drop them.These knives are elegant, sharp and have a stainless blade that holds an edge well and is easy to care for. Style points are deducted for the aluminum handles, but the grip is secure and the construction (American design and manufacture) impeccable. Do not wash in dishwasher, as handles will discolor. I personally enjoy the curved parers, long slicer, peeler, etc. Always pleased with Amazon service. I have no relationship to Amazon or Rada..enjoy both.
