(More customer reviews)This thing is great.I just received my chef pak and filled it up.IT really holds a lot of stuff and the knife case is so much better than my old one that the school gave me.Surprisingly not heavy when you wear it.Must be all the padding. I don't have a laptop but will be getting one soon and this can hold that too.Would recommend to any chef who carrys more than just knives.

(More customer reviews)It got to the point where I had four knife blocks in my kitchen, which took up precious counter space.After searching through large blocks, I settled on this one.It's wonderful.

It's made of attractive birch, and rotates easily.The swivel base is very handy while you're working.It has plenty of slots for all (or most of) the knives you might have.Put your steak knives on the bottom, spread out the rest of them through the block.There's a place for your sharpening steel and any variety of knives you might have.It even had a slot large enough for my cleaver, so I could rescue that darling from the darkness of the drawer.The only caveat is that there is no slot for a pair of kitchen snips - I miss having those at the ready. Other than that,I love it.

All 3 compartments are accessible from one zipper, so you don't need 7 sq feet of space to open it all the way & find what you're looking for...the only downside of that is that you're hanging all your hopes on one zipper & if it fails you you're sunk! But it feels strong and secure. Everything from my old Koobi Kit (whose zippers DID fail me) fit neatly inside, so it's roomy....can't wait to get out there and break it in!

Wusthof 22 slot swivel storage block Review

(More customer reviews)There are TWO main things that are very wrong with this block...

One - The slot designed for your kitchen shears is too small.I have a standard size pair of shears, that fit perfectly into other blocks, and there was just no way.This was definitely problematic, but even MORE problematic ...

Two - The steak knife slots are set too low so the knife tips would drag on the base when you turn it.Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way when I put a steak knife (again, standard size!) in and swiveled it.The point dragged scratching the base before I realized that it was ill-fitting.

A third thing that I think is worth mention is the fact that the lower part, that is designed for your steak knives, is not neatly attached.It looks chintzy as though it were not cut neatly and glued on sloppily.

All that said, I would really think it over a great deal before making the purchase online because this is very heavy and due to today's high shipping costs it would not be viable to return it.I ended up keeping it for that reason, but I would absolutely NOT buy this again if I could go back in time.

Perhaps the best idea would be to go to a B&M store and look it over in person first, then come online to find a better price if it meets your expectations.
