(More customer reviews)I bought this board as a Christmas present for my son-in-law, and he loves it! His criteria for a new board included: reasonable size (so he could bring it to the table) and a trough and well to catch meat juices. This board has those attributes, plus it is well made with small rubber feet to hold it secure while carving and handles (carved into the underside of the board) so it can be carried easily to where ever you like. I looked at every carving board on Amazon and on many other websites; many were nice, but none had ALL of the features I've mentioned -- plus -- a very reasonable price! I would not hesitate to recommend this board. By the way, there is NO ONE on the web that has the selection of carving boards you find on Amazon --thanks, Amazon!

(More customer reviews)I've had this cutting board for years, in four different kitchens.It has held up well.I haven't needed to fret about oiling it, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.For me, the main advantage of oiling it is meat juices don't absorb.The pictures don't show it well, but there is a slight liquid depression at the front of the board, which can be annoying if you are cutting and part of the thing you are cutting is over the depression, as it will not cut all the way through.Also, there are finger groove bevels on left and right bottom, which makes picking it off a flat counter much easier.I've washed mine with soap and water, and then air dried, for years.The block is still perfectly flat.No signs of warping or splitting.The block is much heavier than appearances, but still manageable.This block has been a worthwhile investment, when I think about all the other blocks I purchased over the years that did not last as long.

(More customer reviews)I was introduced to these knives by a roommate in college. They are amazing, and I recommend them to anyone and everyone who likes to cook. Seriously though, don't bother buying them online when you can go to your local Asian market and get them for $3.50 (really). I took a friend to the local market down the street today and he bought three varieties of the larger knives, and three of the smaller (paring) knives all for under $15.I came back and decided to see if they sell them online,... only to be dumbfounded by the price.
